KATIE HODGETTS studied textiles at Birmingham City specialising in Printed Surface Pattern Design. Drawing inspiration and shape from her travels and love for being outdoors, her work explores the colourful and playful interpretation of everyday life.

From bringing together her two favourite things; pattern and beauty, Katie has found diverse ways of displaying her work. After training as a nail technician in 2018, Katie uses this a platform to translate her artwork onto an ‘alternative canvas’ which allows her work to be seen and admired by many others. Making her work and approach to design unique in both the beauty AND textile industry.

As a designer Katie has an eye for developing and applying surface pattern across varied scale. Evident in her own practise of nail art creation but also across large scale sculptures after her involvement with Wild in Art.
